極真空手は空手家、大山倍達により、1964年に創始された直接打撃制の空手です。

国際空手道連盟及び極真会館は、創始者大山倍達の提唱した、「頭は低く、目は高く、口慎んで心広く、孝を原点として他を益する」という極真精神を礎として、極真空手道を通じて人格の淘治と心身の鍛練をはかることで、社会貢献を遂行することを目的としています。さらに極真空手道においては、人種、民族、国家、政治、思想、宗教、性別、年齢などによる偏見差別がなく、全ての人々が平等の権利を有することを旨とし、国際交流をもって世界の平和友好を目指しています。

一.　吾々は心身を錬磨し　確固不抜の心技を極めること

We will train our hearts and bodies for a firm unshaking spirit.

一.　吾々は武の神髄を極め　機に発し感に敏なること

We will pursue the true meaning of the martial way, so that in time, our senses may be alert.

一.　吾々は質実剛健を以て　克己の精神を涵養すること

With true vigor, we will seek to cultivate a spirit of self denial.

一.　吾々は礼節を重んじ長上を敬し　粗暴の振舞いを慎むこと

We will observe the rules of courtesy, respect our superiors, and refrain from violence.

一.　吾々は神仏を尊び　謙譲の美徳を忘れざること

We will follow our religious principles, and never forget the true virtue of humility.

一.　吾々は智性と体力とを向上させ　事に臨んで過たざること

We will look upwards to wisdom and strength, not seeking other desires.

一.　吾々は生涯の修行を空手の道に通じ　極真の道を全うすること

All our lives, through the discipline of karate, we will seek to fulfill the true meaning of Kyokushin way.
